Brian Ackley debuts with "Uptown"

We are proud to announce that Brian Ackley's debut feature film Uptown is in production. "Two kickabout hearts, one lonely, the other lost, come together in Uptown."

Production locations have spread out over various places in historic Manhattan - including Central Park, the Upper West Side, and Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The film features brilliant performances from multi-award-winning actress Meissa Hampton (Fortunes of War, Modern Times), and Chris Riquinha (Cookies & Cream). The film is being produced by Princeton Holt, and features co-production and camera operation by Ryan Balas. The score is being composed by our good friend and talented musician, Dayva Segal.

We are 75% complete on the film's principle photography, which includes such production toys as 2 camera shoots, and multiple wireless mics. As you can see in the photo above, one scene was shot on a moving subway car, while recording performance dialogue. Yes, we know. We're nuts.

Brian Ackley has written and directed several projects since his time at Brooklyn College in 2006. Those include the surprising Hostage Person, Erica (which he hopes to make into a feature), and La Fleur Sans Vie. As an actor, Brian also appears in Princeton Holt's Phish, as well as having a pivotal role as Dylan in Cookies & Cream.

The film will wrap up production on weekends - which are the 19th, 20th, and 26th of September. If you'd like to get your feet wet, help out and join the family, feel free to contact us!
