Baltimore Examiner's Article on Chris Riquinha

Here is a Baltimore Examiner piece on our very own Chris Riquinha, who last year was nominated for Best Actor for his role in our 2nd feature film Uptown by the LSU Cinema Club at Baton Rouge, LA's Outhouse Film Festival. His performance also received a high amount of attention and critical acclaim.

Actor Chris Riquinha journey in acting has been a fun and thrilling ride for the past few years. But to know the actor you have to start with his college days. Chris spent time concentrating on Biology and Physics for Sports Medicine. After a while Chris felt like he was going through the motions. Realizing that his ultimate goal had been acting since he’s high school days, Chris felt it was "necessary to go 100% into acting".

The New Jersey born actor had interests in independent films going back almost a decade. While watching the bonus material & behind the scenes of the film "Gladiator", Chris knew that independent films was his calling. Chris recalls that "acting classes really taught him about what it takes to be an actor". A defining moment for Chris was during finals for one of his acting classes were he just "loss himself in his character". Not content with just a few acting classes, Chris took even more classes. For the leading actor it's all about "wanting to do something that you love". Student films, theatre, commericals and independent films have allowed Chris to meet interesting people who share his passion for acting.
