"Dolls"

We came across this highly ambitious, yet very interesting idea for a short film called Dolls. Take a look at this teaser, and read more about the film below:

DOLLS Teaser 2010 from Elena Saorin on Vimeo.

DOLLS is an ambitious short film with a very strong distinctive style. It's strongly inspired by the work of Jan Svankmeyer and Tim Burton, combining stop motion animation and live action with Victorian England inspired colours, costumes, characters and the darkness of Bolex Brothers. It will look stunning, sound amazing and stay in your heart!

The story is about the adventures of a human doll and her companions, three Teddies (three stop motion puppets). Doll lives with them in an old Victorian house, isolated from the world. One day, she receives a mysterious note through the post and despite the attempts of the Teddies to stop her, she decides to leave the house, seeking what's promised in the letter (still unknown to the audience). The magical outside world is menacing and dangerous (an old beggar; a boy that turns in to a crow; a golden beach and evil rag dolls). Will Doll and her friends succeed in their quest? What was in the note?

Wanna show "Dolls" some love? C'mon!
