Naama Kates in "Eden"
Naama Kates has landed and recently wrapped a supporting role in a new independent feature called Eden, shot primarily in Seattle.
EDEN is a new film inspired by the true story of human trafficking survivor Chong Kim. It is directed by Megan Griffiths (THE OFF HOURS) and produced by Colin Plank (THE HUMAN BEEING) and Jacob Mosler (MEAN CREEK). Principal photography is scheduled to begin in August in Seattle and Eastern Washington.
In 1994 a Korean-American teenager, Hyun Jae, went to a bar in New Mexico where a handsome young man posing as a firefighter bought her drinks and offered her a ride home. At that point she was abducted, thrown into the trunk of a car and smuggled into Las Vegas, where she was imprisoned in a storage facility-turned-brothel for two years. During her captivity, Hyun Jae (dubbed Eden by her captors)... ensured her own survival by steadily carving out power and influence within the very organization that imprisoned her. Inspired by the complex and harrowing true story of human trafficking survivor Chong Kim, Eden peers into the darkest corners of America and attempts to discover the humanity within.
