Our friend Julia Porter Howe, who played the lead in Ryan Andrew Balas' highly creative second feature film Carter, sings occasional lead in a cool indie/pop band The Golden Age of Radio (http://www.myspace.com/thegoldenageofradio). One of their songs is actually performed live by them in a scene in the film itself. They have recently released a free EP online for you to download! Two siblings and two friends make up this indie rock band from (mostly) Brooklyn. Dual guy/girl vocals, bouncing basslines, aggresive drums, loud guitars and a synth underscore give the band a unique sound, somewhere between The Anniversary and Hot Water Music. The Get Awesome EP is their first release - a full-length will follow this year.
