Black & White

Throwback Sundays this week revisits the master of staging sometimes awkward, but brilliant improvisational situations, our friend James Toback and his controversial 1999 feature film Black and White.

Brooke Shields plays a documentary filmmaker who is married to Robert Downey Jr's character who is gay, but in the closet. Well sort of. As usual Downey is fearless in his improv - who always does anything necessary to create real moments. "Anything for honesty" is his motto.

Interesting fact. Most of the scenes, including this one, was improvised, and contrary to rumors, Mike Tyson was quite happy with the film and did publicity for it afterwards.

In this clip, supermodel Claudia Schiffer makes out with gangsta music mogul Rich Bower (played by Wu-Tang Clan Executive Producer and Wu Wear CEO, Power), and is confronted by her ex (Ben Stiller).
